Mishti!

Misthi © Copyright Neoriz 2004-05

This is my Niece, Misthi, which means "sweet". But let me warn you that she is no way as sweet as she appears in the photograph. She is a real smart kid. And I love her for that.

About this photograph, it was originally shot in a color mode and then converted into a B&W old grained photo using the picture editing software.

The best part of this photograph is that in the background there are two people standing and a TV showing cricket match, which have been neatly hidden using the brightness and contrast controls, giving it look of studio photogrpah.

The image has been re-touched with airbrush and various other filters. And the lighting has been modified (using software) to make it appear as if a focus light has been pointed to the subjects face, making it look like a classic shot.

And ofcourse the pose struck by the kid is absolutely natural, that's why it gives an air of authenticity. This photograph was taken in March 2005.

The effects are great, and I should commend on the Misthi's expression that you've captured. B&W snaps are a class apart, I feel you shud reel a few B&W on low aperture!! Expressions rule!!
